"Had no one been alerted [...], then most people might not have even noticed that it was happening"
And the same applies to 'Global warming'/'Climate change' hypothesis. People are bombarded from every corner by it. When I ask, 'what was the summer like 2y ago ?', or winter, people don't remember..but ,they 'noticed the change'. As if they could average temperatures over 4 months and tell there was 0.05 Celsius increase compared to last year.
Or another theme : 1.5Celsius above preindustial levels. As if there was some ideal temperature for us/the planet. And 1.5C above what ? What was the global temperature at the end of 19th century ? 8, 13, 17, 25 Celsius ? Measured at 100 points ? Mostly in Europe ? With what accuracy ? Interesting they always talk in offsets against that mysterious 'preindustial level'.
What is the average global average temperature today, 30th Jan 2024 ?
The whole idea of global warming (remarketed as climate change) is both a fashionable folly and political propaganda. I might revise that entry soon, but currently I’m on the so-called “non-aggression principle”.
Haha..Sorry, once I finished the article, I read about 'A LIBERTARIAN DICTIONARY' and I immediatly started to read that, not reading next sentence i.e. 'Asterisks indicate other entries.'.
But still, each word prefixed with asterisk is what - explained in the document 'A LIBERTARIAN DICTIONARY' ? Because it is not. I mean, it does not have its own paragraph e.g. word 'money'. When I search the document I find "banking See *money.". But where is separate paragraph for 'money' ? Or is the document not finished and 'money' is to be added ? Also, not all words 'money' are prefixed by asterisk.
Ah, I see. Now the 'END B' at the end of the document makes sense. This is the 1st time I see use of asterisk in this way. I thought it might be some reference to a footnote but there was none.
Hm.. I find it a bit distracting. Asterisks break text fluidity somehow. Italic and/or bold would achieve the same. And, active link to the word's definition when pointing with a mouse would be very helpful to navigate back and forth. Maybe this version is distributed without that functionality.

This is an interesting thought experiment. By the way, what are all those asterisk characters all over the text ?
Thank you. See the note under the entry.

Where? On PhilPapers? (https://philpeople.org/profiles/jan-clifford-lester) Only A-B is currently there. Not all entries are uploaded because they are not yet revised. Repetition of asterisks are avoided in the same entry, unless it is long. But mistaken omissions are also possible. The title page and preface are now on the substack page to help clarify matters: https://jclester.substack.com/p/a-libertarian-dictionary
"Where? On PhilPapers?"
Yes. Google gave me this reference

and then i pressed 'Download'
"Only A-B is currently there."

Thank you for explaining this to me.
I adopted that use of asterisks from Roger Scruton's A Dictionary of Political Thought (first published 1982).

Thank you.
