COVID-19 Pandemic: a Libertarian Viewpoint

COVID-19 pandemic  The old expression, “The cure is worse than the disease” has rarely been more apt. Had no one been alerted to the existence of the recent pandemic (if it even qualifies as a genuine pandemic rather than a ^*propaganda redefinition), then most people might not have even noticed that it was happening, more people would now be—and longer continue to be—alive and in better health, and we would be much better off financially. The ^*political response has been ^*authoritarianism throughout. It started as some combination of incompetence and bad luck but then increasingly turned into deceit and ^*criminal recklessness. Various things that were fairly clear to a few ^*sceptical thinkers from early on are now becoming clearer to more people (at least, to those who are not non-^*autonomous authoritarians: the real “covidiots”, as it is ironic that the sceptics were once called). A few of these ^*truths can be listed here but full explanations will still need to be found on mostly non-mainstream media. 1) The disease was not especially deadly except for the old and very vulnerable (average age of death by it being higher than the average age of death by all causes). 2) Testing was inaccurate with many false positives that were then used as propaganda to incite fear and thereby compliance. 3) The masks were no help, even the N95s and similar, and probably did harm. 4) The vaccines, if they all even qualify as genuine vaccines rather than a propaganda redefinition, were not properly tested. 5) People were not informed of even the known statistical risks of taking the vaccines, as is legally required. 6) The vaccines may well have killed, and will continue to kill, more people than they have saved. 7) The side-effects of the vaccines, including death, have been vast (with only about 2% estimated to have been officially reported) and some quite awful. 8) Several other, far cheaper, therapeutics and treatments were helpful or even highly efficient at combatting the disease but they were unjustly maligned and side-lined for political and profit motives. 9) The “lock-downs” combined with ^*taxation-financed (including by increasing the ^*money supply) handouts did a lot of harm and no good. 10) There was, and is, ^*censorship (often by quasi-^*fascist ^*state pressure on the mass media) including of some leading virologists, epidemiologists, statisticians, etc., with critical views; this being combined with propaganda from various bought-and-paid-for “scientists” and other “experts”. 11) The continuing global above-average death-rates (which are especially remarkable as this is after many of the elderly and vulnerable have already died) are clear but, currently, virtually no ^*politicians or mainstream media will mention it, let alone discuss it or call for a proper ^*scientific and political investigation of it.
